Telangana Democratic Front, an umbrella organisation of various peoples’ associations’ has called for a ‘Chalo Assembly’ protest on September 30 demanding a detailed inquiry into the recent encounter. Releasing a poster of the protest here on Friday, revolutionary poet Varavara Rao said Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao failed to keep up his promise of implementing the Maoist party agenda. Instead, he was now trying to eliminate the Maoist party members unleashing terror against them.
Describing the encounter as ‘fake’ , he held responsible the policemen who took part in the operation of killing Sruthi and Vidyasagar Reddy in Moddulagutta encounter in Govindaraopet mandal here. “The State government should own responsibility for the murders. The government should order a detailed inquiry into the encounter, Mr. Varavara Rao demanded. Various peoples’ associations and democratic organisations had joined hands to condemn the encounter. Mr. Sudarshan, father of Sruthi said that it was clear that his daughter was molested and brutally tortured before being killed.
