Around 30 to 40 uniformed Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres set ablaze an office of the forest department in Malewada village in Gadchiroli District of Maharashtra on July 16, reports The Hindu. No one was injured in the incident, however, the furniture and important documents of the forest department were damaged in the fire.
Maoists free abducted villagers in Odisha
The Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres released all the abducted villagers of Mahupadar under the Mathili Police Station in Malkangiri District on July 17, reports The Pioneer. According to reports, the Maoists released all 11 abducted villagers after hearing their pleas in a ‘kangaroo court’ deep inside the Dandipadar forest in the District. While most of the abducted villagers were found innocent, a few were issued warning for committing mistakes, sources said.
